Pastor Steve Ballew

Steve Ballew is our senior pastor.  He began his tenure at Emmanuel in March 2011.  Previously Pastor Steve served three churches in Arizona for the previous 22+ years.  Steve is a native of New Mexico; growing up in Clovis.  He attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces where he met and married his wife, Cheryl, in 1983.  They have one son, Joel.  Steve received a Bachelors of Accountancy from NMSU in 1984 and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX in 1988.  Pastor Steve is excited about ministering with the Emmanuel family to see this church community become increasing engaged in leading all peoples to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ.  pastorsteve@emmanuelfarmington.com

 

  

 

Jeff Moody

 Jeff is our Minister of Education and most recently served full-time for 12 years as Minister of Education at First Baptist Church of Surfside Beach, South Carolina and prior to that for five years as Minister of Youth and Education at First Baptist Church of Keokuk, Iowa. He also served part time at Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas. He has a B.A in Biblical Studies from Criswell College and a M.A. in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Jeff has three sisters and grew up in Mesquite, TX, where his parents and a sister still reside, and where he met his wife of 22 years, Michelle. They have been blessed with four children—Josiah, Sarah, Jonathan and Samuel—and would love to introduce you to the good things God is doing here at Emmanuel Baptist Church.  jmoody@emmanuelfarmington.com   

       

Josh Smyrl

     

Josh Smyrl is our Minister of Students.  He is married to Karen who helps him out in our youth department.  They have been married since June 2008.  She works at Hello Beautiful, a salon in Farmington.  He has been on staff with us since July 2010.  Before coming to Farmington, he taught as a middle school and high school math teacher for nine years in Mississippi.  He began serving in youth ministry in Cincinnati in 1999, where he served as a summer missionary while attending Delta State University.  After he completed college, he served as youth minister for Faith Baptist Church in Byhalia, MS while he taught math and coached football.  He served there from August 2001 until June 2010.   During that time, he sensed God was leading him to full-time youth ministry.  He feels he is very blessed to be serving at Emmanuel.   jsmyrl@emmanuelfarmington.com

      

  

  

David Vaughan

       

David Vaughan is Media Ministries Director, has been on staff since 2000, In addition to his duties at Emmanuel, David has his own part-time video business. He and wife Dian are members of “Willing Heart” a local Christian gospel music group. Dian is our pianist on Sunday mornings. They have 2 children, Eric age 31 Chiropractic Dr., practicing in Dallas, Tx and Alissa age 23 is a Graduate of NMSU. dvaughan@emmanuelfarmington.com        

Dee Hamilton

 

Dee Hamilton is our Outreach Secretary. Dee is our senior stafff member having been on staff since 1985. She is married to Jess Hamilton who is our church senior custodian. Dee has 2 children and 3 grandsons.   deehamilton@emmanuelfarmington.com     

Gayle Deal

 

Gayle Deal is our Publication Secretary.             

She has been a member of Emmanuel Baptist for 32 years and on staff for 11 years. She is married to Rex Deal. Her 2 grown children, Jennifer and Eric are the interim Praise and Worship leaders. Gayle has 4 granddaughters that she adores and loves nothing better than to spend time with them.     gdeal@emmanuelfarmington.com        

Freda Debrick

 

Freda has been married to Dan Debrick since 1987. They enjoy riding bicycles and traveling. They have 2 children, Danna and Rebecca. She has been a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1991. She has taught Sunday school in preschool, children and youth divisions over the past years. One of her passions is working with kids.  Freda worked in the Child Development Center from 1996 to 2003 and has worked in the Church office since 2003. She loves kids of all ages, from precious new born kids to the very valuable antique kids. Vickie Locke

 

Vickie is our financial secretary and has been on staff since 2009 and is married to Tim Locke.  

They have 3 children, Brandon, Trevor and Baylie and one grandchild, Cheyanne. They moved to Farmington in 2006 after retiring from the US Navy.  They enjoy traveling (which is a good thing being a military family!) and any time spent with their families.   vlocke@emmanuelfarmington.com          

Jess Hamilton

 Jess Hamilton is head of building maintenence, has been on staff since 1993 and takes a great deal of pride in keeping Emmanuel’s facility in good condition. He has been a member since 1992 and is married to Dee our Outreach Secretary.             

Fidel Martinez

 

Fidel Martinez is Jess’s right hand man, Fidal is married and has 2 children. He has been employed at EBC  since 2002.
